Cross Section Data¶
Generating simulated events with this project requires doubly-differential (and total) neutrino
cross section data.
Any data files which are compatible with sim-services
I3CrossSection can be used; one set of such files covering charged-current and neutral-current DIS
interactions of both neutrinos and anti-neutrinos on isoscalar targets, with the calculation of
Cooper-Sarkar, Mertsch, and Sarkar,
which are published via CVFMS in the icecube.opensciencegrid.org repository in the
data/neutrino-generator/cross_section_data/csms_differential_v1.0 subdirectory.
On systems which mount CVFS at the typical location, these can be read from:
/cvmfs/icecube.opensciencegrid.org/data/neutrino-generator/cross_section_data/csms_differential_v1.0
The test cross section data in this project’s resources directory is not suitable for general use outside of the test suite.
